ABOUT Olga Kochak

Welcome to my World! My name is Olga Kochak. I am 35 years old and I am a passionate trainer from Amsterdam. I was born in Russia and now I have been living in the Netherlands for more than 3.5 years.

Sports have always been present in my life. I started running before I learned to walk. At school I was very tall, and so my teacher advised me to try out basketball.  Professionally I was a sprinter with my best time being 10.5 seconds for the 100 meters. I was also a player of the Russian national team for more than 6 years. Unfortunately, after a knee injury, I was forced to leave professional sports behind.

At 28, I gave birth to my first son. At that time, I thought that pregnancy meant I should never deny myself. I indulged in bad habits and I ended up gaining 25kg during pregnancy. In the end, I gained excess weight and suffered from postnatal depression that lasted about 2 months. I understand now that pregnancy does not mean you have to dismiss yourself and turn off your mind. The most difficult step was returning to the gym again and beginning to fight for my body. I crossed this line and started training every day. I changed my attitude towards food and now I’m a vegetarian. The process of losing weight was about 8 months. It was hard work and a daily process. During the second pregnancy I continued to work and workout in the gym until the last day. I had an easier time and my weight was more stable.

It is very important to me that I learn something new every day. Now that I live in another country, I worked to learn the language and continue training as a professional trainer. It is here in the Netherlands that I found my real passion – helping other people to achieve their dreams, work on themselves to be better. I’m glad that I’m training people.

I really love cooking. I avoid sugar and eat wholesome foods such as vegetables, whole grains, beans and soy; they help make food healthy and tasty. I truly believe that you look like what you eat.

My favorite way to exercise is to run. When I run, it allows me to be alone with myself and think about the many things in my life that are happening. I consider it important to workout your CORE because this is your foundation, you will often find me doing exercises such as Mountain Climbers, planks, burpees and sit-ups – my personal favorite.

As a trainer, I believe it is very important to have a positive attitude and then the process will bring pleasure. Be happy, healthy, love what you do and do what you love! I can’t wait to workout with you!
